Abstract

The paper describes analysis and simulation results of the soft switching pulse-width modulated (PWM) high-frequency DC-DC full-bridge converter with half-controlled full-bridge output rectifier. Active switches on the secondary side together with the newly designed non-dissipative turn-off snubber and control algorithm provide zero-current and zero-voltage switching for the primary side IGBT transistors. The turn-off snubber also provides zero-voltage turn-off for the secondary side transistors of the half-controlled full-bridge rectifier. The principle of operation is verified by simulation of a 2 kW, 50 kHz model of the proposed DC-DC converter.
