Magic Props: A Multi-sensory System Fusing Virtual Effects in Live Drama Performance Spatially

Abstract

In order to enrich and diversify traditional live drama performance arts on stage, the authors designed a kind of magic props by multi-sensors fusion, performers could use it to trigger visual effects during the live drama performance, the position of the magic tool could be tracked and then the generated visual effects could be matched and displayed on drama stage at appropriate position spatially to make an augmented live drama show. Infrared LED, infrared camera, PCB circuit and Bluetooth module were used and integrated in the magic props.
