Abstract

In the context of the sustainable development, historic districts are actively integrated into urban development plans and policies to enhance the sustainability of urban areas through cultural heritage such as historic districts. This paper adopts the perspective of cultural studies and aims to reflect on the sustainable development of the Quanzhou Street from the perspective of humanities. Based on the narrative theory, this paper takes the Quanzhou Street in Fujian Province as an example, regarding the district as a unique text, analyzes its narrative text from two aspects of text elements and organizational composition and discusses the narrative context of it. Finally, combined with the relevant theories of narratology and sustainable development, design strategies of sustainable development of historic districts are proposed.
