Brushless cascaded doubly-fed induction machine: Modeling and simulation

Abstract

This paper presents a steady state analysis of a Brushless Cascaded Doubly-fed Induction Machine (BCDIM) in positive and negative phase sequence connection. Additionally, a torque × speed characteristic curve is proposed, analyzed and compared with results obtained from a dynamic modeling simulation. This study is carried out for the particular condition of opened and shot-circuited auxiliary input. This result will allow the application of the BCDIM as an electrical generator for wind power energy conversion.
