Abstract

Planar radomes are in general used for ground-based applications having large planar phased array. In this paper EM characteristics of planar phased array covered with a monolithic planar radome is presented using 2-D ray tracing with aperture integration method. The transmission efficiency and gain loss are shown for two different aperture distributions, viz., Taylor and cosine-squared. The characteristics of the antenna-radome system are analyzed for two frequency bands, viz. S- and X-band.
