On the Possibility to Solve the Problems of Electrical Power Supply to Autonomous Consumers by Using Renewable Energy Sources

Abstract

The problem of power supply to remote consumers today is one of the most important problems in the Russian power industry. The article provides a classification of the Russian territories according to the degree of centralization and security of fuel and energy resources. Considered the possibility of using renewable energy sources for power supply in decentralized regions. Arguments about the economic feasibility of using renewable energy sources in decentralized regions are presented. Renewable energy sources were compared with diesel power generating facilities. The authors also analyzed in detail the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy sources.
