Abstract

In this work, a Frequency Selective Surface reflector (FSS) has been presented to improve the gain of the antenna for 5G applications. The dimensions of the antenna are 50mm×40 mm×1.6mm and those of the FSS unit cell are 14.2mm×14.2mm×1.6 mm. Both of them are thoroughly presented in this paper. The antenna is integrated with the proposed FSS, they could achieve a high gain. It passed from 2.81 dB to 9.12 dB at 3.5 GHz and the bandwidth reach at 2.28 GHz.
