Abstract

In this paper, we describe and enhance TAPIOCA (distribuTed and AdaPtive IntersectiOns Control Algorithm), a distributed algorithm that relies on a wireless sensor network to manage urban road traffic efficiently. We detail TAPIOCA with a special emphasis on communications and we study its reaction to losses and delays induced by the use of wireless communication.
