Small size STW microwave source with temperature compensation and low g-vibration sensitivity

Abstract

The paper describes a new type small size surface transverse wave (STW) microwave source with temperature compensation and low g-vibration sensitivity of less than 5/spl times/10/sup -10//g. The frequency deviation used analog circuit with diode varactor and resistance thermistor network to compensate is less than /spl plusmn/30 ppm over a wide temperature range (-35/spl deg/C/spl sim/+55/spl deg/C). Its output frequency is 2.2 GHz and has good harmonic suppression, and a small size of 2.36"/spl times/1.0"/spl times/0.59" (60/spl times/25/spl times/10 mm/sup 3/). It has low g-vibration sensitivity of less than 5/spl times/10/sup -10//g.
