Abstract

This paper investigates a novel method based on the application of stepped impedance resonator technique used for miniaturization of metamaterial unit-cells. The effect of this technique on the S parameters of well-known rectangular and circular metamaterial unit-cells is studied and it is shown that this technique works well for both type of structures.
