Abstract

This invited talk will present two different technologies which have the potential to increase the data rate and lower the energy-per-bit in communication systems: Millimeter-wave/THz silicon RFICs and RF MEMS tunable networks. The mm-wave silicon RFIC technology is also applicable to a wide range of miniature sensors, such as low power radars and imaging systems, operating at 100 GHz and above.
