Abstract
Modem biotechnology has multiplied beyond imagination the range of human possibilities, even with respect to human beings themselves. Yet no human technology is able to provide the answers to its own moral and religious challenges. Beyond the dimension of means there ist the dimension of ends – of discovering the answers to the basic questions about human existence. For the sake of all human beings biotechnology must engage in a dialogue with philosophical and theological anthropology.
