Abstract
A battery-less Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) prototype based on inductive coupling is presented in this paper. A special power recovery circuit is designed and implemented in 0.35μm 14V HVCMOS takes place of battery as power supply. The power is delivered by a 2.25W@13.56MHz transmitter and transferred over 65cm to achieve DC voltage at 3V with intermittent current of 10mA as power supply for a widely used commercial TPMS System on Chip which is composed of pressure sensor, temperature sensor, A/D and MCU. The power receiver is put in tire so that the influence of wheel hub could be considered. The battery-less TPMS is verified to be feasible.
