Abstract

A technological-based lighting system may be considered a platform for connected lighting systems, which refers to a concept based on the cloud, deployment of sensors, and utilizing the concepts of IOT to manage the connected lighting system applications without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. This research paper proposes different types of lighting systems and sensors that are used in connected lighting systems. It also involves the implementation that involves designing and installing the system components and then connecting them to a cloud platform for data analysis, remote control, and automation. This paper also proposes new ideas like a connected drone-based emergency lighting system that helps in search and rescue operations and attempts to provide a future research direction in this sector.
