Abstract
This paper introduces the basis knowledge about partial discharge of XLPE cables, the idea that precise partial discharge location can be achieved by traveling waves fault location technology is proposed, then some key issues are discussed in this paper, that is the interference between consecutive partial discharges is analyzed, the measurability of partial discharges voltage is proved, and the effective signal acquisition for traveling waves of partial discharge is solved.
