Abstract
UHF RFID (Ultrahigh frequency radio frequency identification) is used in various application fields due to its advantages of cheap tag price and long reading range. Mobile RFID is a new technology that is expected to provide various services using RFID and cellular network. But the range of UHF RFID reader in cellular phone (mobile reader) is short. That is because the reader radiates low power of signal due to form factor and limited power supply. It is the obstacle to use it conveniently and to provide various services. In this paper, BoMR (a booster for mobile RFID readers) is designed and implemented to extend the range of a mobile reader. BoMR amplifies the signal of a granted reader and radiates it to tags. Consequently, the range is extended because the power of a tag's response signal is grown by amplified CW (continuous wave).
