Important aspects for installing the public lighting on the road include traffic safety and correct illumination of the road according to the legislation in effect. Within new researches, requirements for suitable temperature set-up, chromaticity, dazzling prevention, reduced light pollution and other parameters having impact not only on the quality of lighting but also on the ambient life are specified more precisely. Dynamic regulation modifying the lighting intensity depending on the amount of vehicles and their presence is to help not only meet the requirements of the standard, but also include other parameters of the illumination system, and last but not least to increase power savings and reduce CO2. Abstract
The article describes the design and implementation of adaptive lighting on the road, or dynamic regulation of lighting in Ústí nad Labem, and the experience acquired from the assessment of benefits of this solution. Important aspects for installing the public lighting on the road include traffic safety and correct illumination of the road according to the legislation in effect.
