Electric Regulation: Gas Prices Affect Electricity Costs Most Strongly in Northeast and Mid‐Atlantic

Abstract

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) began the public posting of select regional electricity and natural gas hub prices in concert with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC's) proposal to change the scheduling and operating practices used by interstate pipelines. This data includes eight corresponding electricity and natural gas trading hubs.
