Abstract

Abstract This chapter explores the relationship between higher education and tourism and development. It briefly traces the historical development of tourism higher education in China and identifies contemporary opportunities and challenges before going on to consider potential future trends that, in particular, exploit opportunities afforded by digital technology and 5G development.
