Abstract

Addressing the issue of setting up a police station in Brazil means discussing chaos. The lack of resources for the proper maintenance of environments, together with the incompetence of some professional designers, result in the known reality. As applied extension research, its objective is to evaluate the accessibility and usability conditions of some of its environments. Specifically, it has the function of promoting the welfare and safety of all users. Understanding the behavior of people facing the occupation of the available spaces is of fundamental importance for planning and adjustments. Thus, ergonomics contributes to the clarification and understanding of the observed acts. The Ergonomic Work Analysis AET looked for the methodology for the development of the research, and the evaluations demonstrated the need for interference for physical-material and physical-labor corrections. Result of the process of investigation and analysis, a diagnosis was made with recommendations to be provided. These recommendations highlight the accessibility, privacy and security aspects of all users, Police Officers AP and customers. Concludes the research on the importance of training future professional designers considering the multidisciplinarity in different areas of knowledge.
