Abstract
Node placement is a crucial issue affects different performance parameters of the wireless sensor network such as energy consumption, network connectivity and some parameters related to the application of the deployed wireless network. This paper presents a multi-objective optimization methodology for node placement in wireless sensor network design. Emerging computational intelligence leads to optimization of NP-hard problem in a simple way Differential evolution approach is used as a tool for optimization of most important parameters in node placement process of wireless sensor network. Optimal operational modes of the nodes in order to minimize the energy consumption and meet application-specific requirements have been investigated. Also other optimizations have been done on clustering and communication range of sensors.
