Abstract

In recent years, increased timely and accurate laboratory test results are being produced and this has led to the clinical laboratory being recognized as the nerve centre of the diagnostic process [1]. Laboratory test results play a pivotal role in the diagnosis and management of a patient. Approximately 60–70% of medical decisions related to diagnosis and treatment depend on them [2].
