Abstract

Plans for future broadband communication systems call for the development of alternatives types of antennas. A combination of slot and microstrip patch antenna lead to particularly convenient geometries. Recently, the coplanar waveguide (CPW) appeared as an alternative solution for antenna feeding and a CPW microstrip patch antenna has become interesting. This paper proposes a design procedure of CPW aperture coupled patch antenna at 30 GHz, implemented on a high dielectric constant substrate (∊r = 9.9), which is close to the dielectric constant of GaAs.
