Baldassare Peruzzi: proyecto para la tumba del papa Adriano VI

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This essay analyzes the tomb of Adrian VI created by Baldassare Peruzzi circa 1553, and studies the drawings for this project and the engravings etched for it following this model. Certain differences can be discerned between the project and the actual tomb in Santa Maria dell’Anima in Rome. I focus on the sources of the cardinal virtues that are depicted, as well as the two theological virtues found in the project. Se presentan ciertas diferencias con la composición actual en santa María dell’Anima en Roma. Reparamos en las fuentes de las virtudes cardinales que se dan cita y en las dos teologales que se encuentran en el proyecto.
