The Future For Intelligent Transport Systems: Keynote Opening Speech

Abstract

Intelligent transport systems are essential if the objective of integrated transport systems in the UK is to be achieved. The historic reasons for the development of congestion in the UK are described. Before road pricing can be introduced, the importance of adequate research and appropriate decision making is stressed.
