Smart Gateway for Low-Power Lossy Networks

Abstract

Low Power and Lossy Networks (LLN) are composed of con- strained devices that auto-organize around one or few gateways. These gateways are usually traffic sink but thanks to their key location they can host energy saving services. We will see how cache mechanisms can filter incoming requests to match lifetime goals of each node with the right amount of requests they can handle. Then we will see how traffic sample can be used to acquire a coarse estimate of individual nodes energy consumption. We will use information coming from the routing topology and lightweight explicit calibrations.
