Abstract

Big data analysis used for smart tourism destinations has become a new trend in the increasing demand for tourism. However, relevant research on this problem is limited. This paper reports a literature review, in-depth interviews, and content analysis about tourism destinations and tourists. This study aims to discuss how knowledge transfer based on big data promotes the value of tourists and the competitive advantages of smart tourism destinations through value co-creation between them. An influencing model is explored to reflect such an interactive process. This study also makes some contributions to tourism destinations.
