Abstract

In the measurement of the transient recovery voltage (TRV) for short line fault (SLF) artificial line, distinctive TRV waveforms were measured. In the measured waveforms, a center of the TRV voltage oscillation was not constant. Due to the fact, the amplitude factor of the measured TRV was very low. When the SLF artificial line components are composed by linear elements, the center of the TRV oscillation must be constant. And the amplitude of the TRV will be large. This distinctive TRV waveform was generated by the frequency dependence of the air core main reactor for the SLF artificial line.
