Decision problems for groups

Abstract

These notes are “bare bones” and will be greatly amplified in lectures. Apart from the beginning, I have included merely definitions and the main steps of the proofs. In contrast, in the lectures I will endeavour to stress the intuition rather than just give formal proofs. We will need some group constructions and a brief theory of algorithms, and will study their interplay. Exercises are included.
