Abstract

Rasheed Amjad is famous short story writer , one of superior quality of his creative art is symbolism and abstraction. " Lamp Post" is one of renowned short story of Rasheed Amjad which unfolds numerous dimensions of life. The predominant theme of the above mentioned story is the increasing trend of materialistism in society which has not only deprived modern man from dear ones at the same time it's severity has made man machine like item unmindful about sense and sensibility of life and it's belongs. This research article is an effort to highlight the art of Rasheed Amjad and different themes of the short story " Lamp Post".
