An advanced hybrid image codec for frame memory reduction in LCD overdrive

Abstract

This paper presents an advanced hybrid image codec (AHIC) for frame memory reduction in LCD overdrive to eliminate motion blur. The AHIC can reduce frame memory to 1/6 with the PSNR of 35.268dB. It also applies a novel architecture to reduce the line buffer to 50% without any image degradation.
