Impact of the COVID 19 Pandemic on Organ Donation from Deceased Donors in the United States

Abstract

The increase of DDD was likely due to a sharp rise in national drug overdose death in the midst of economic and social disruption brought upon by the pandemic. OPTN's deceased donor data can be used as a surrogate of national drug death count, offering precious time for public health efforts to react.
