Abstract

The recrystallization of an Al-Mg-Si alloy deformed by plane strain compression at 400°C and 1 s-1 has been studied. Fine particles are found to have a significant influence on the development of recrystallization textures. Annealing at 400°C, in the presence of Al-Fe-Si particles located on boundaries, results in a weak recrystallization texture. There is a clear indication that grain nucleation is associated with abnormal subgrain growth.
