Abstract

The microgrid can address the technical and commercial challenge of integrating distributed energy resources into the bulk electric grid, and also provide an effective approach to reducing the consequences of natural disaster (e.g. earthquake, hurricane and snowstorm). The microgrid features and its applications to emergency response and disaster relief are first presented in this paper.
