Abstract
In our days, "Electric power system kit" is the only producer of power and secondary equipment scale models. The production laboratory is established on the basis of Automated Power Systems department, Ural Power Engineering Institute, UrFU. In the laboratory, the following processes are organized: designing, 3D printing model and three-dimensional laser scanning of power equipment assembling of substation. Laser scanning of power facilities allows to achieve the priority goal of obtaining three-dimensional primary digital CAD-model and its drawings with high accuracy needed to meet the challenges of designing, construction, quality control, diagnostics, and other engineering tasks. The whole production process is implemented by students. Speaking about educational process, students who work in the framework of the project get knowledge about power equipment structure. This aspect improve the quality of the education and students personal skills, which are of great importance for further employment in electric power industry.
