Abstract

For in-plane magnetized YIG films, it is well known that either magnetostatic surface waves(MSSWs), backward volume waves(MSBVWs), or their hybrid modes propagate depending on the direction of the biasing magnetic field. For MSSW/MSBVW hybrid modes, as the angle 13 shown in Figure 1 increases , the frequency band of hiSSWs decreases in width, and the band disappears beyond a critical angle[l)(l]. In the present study, we have examined effects of a metal plane on the bandwidth and the critical angle. We have obtained new results that for the metallized YIG the band widens and no critical angle exists.
