Abstract

Power system cost, performance, functions, integration, reliability, packaging and efficiency are being challenged by the user community as newer, higher performance and lower cost systems are being introduced by major OEMs. The authors provide verified data to illustrate where the power system designer can reduce overall cost by generating realistic specifications for the application. This value analysis should provide confidence to the power supply specifier whereby a no frills specification can be created that meets, but does not exceed, the actual system requirements.
