Abstract

Nanogrid is a subset of microgrid which is powering a single building or a house. Low voltage DC distribution within a building or a house structure is called a DC Nanogrid. The DC Nanogrid consists of power converters like Battery Management system (BMS), Solar PV Converter, and an AC/DC converter which draws powers from the grid when renewable and BMS unable to deliver the load demand. DC Nanogrid is a low voltage DC distribution system suitable for residential applications where we can connect DC electronic loads like BLDC fans, Laptop, LED Lights. Battery Management system (BMS) is the most important element in the DC Nanogrid. BMS algorithm for the effective operation of DC Nanogrid is detailed in this work.
