There were few studies on sea clutter cross-polarized characteristics in the past. In this study, a scattering coefficients model is presented which can be used as a supplement to the study of cross-polarized sea clutter. We analyzed the characteristics of cross-polarized sea surface scattering coefficients and simulated the clutter to noise ratio of airborne radar system. It is considered that the cross-polarized radar system can reduce the interference caused by clutter significantly. Abstract
