THE ROLE OF THE CIVIL AVIATION AND TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF RUSSIAN REGIONS

Abstract

The article provides an overview of the cur-rent state of the civil aviation industry, in par-ticular, the segment of passenger air trans-portation and civil aviation infrastructure, identifies its role and impact on the regional economy. The authors show that the devel-opment of the passenger transportation market reflects the socio-economic devel-opment of the territories, as it largely deter-mines their accessibility, investment attrac-tiveness and convenience for economic ac-tivities. As a theoretical significance of the study, it should be noted the substantiation of the contribution of the regional air transport system to the gross regional prod-uct. Of practical interest are recommenda-tions for taking into account the development of Russian civil aviation in modern condi-tions.
