Abstract

Rectangular microstrip patch has been designed with defected microstrip surface for the suppression of cross polarized radiations. Very simple linear slot defects have been created over the patch surface without any deviation in resonance frequency. The proposed technique is so simple and easily adapted to any working microstrip patch antenna using standard etching process. Results have been validated experimentally using a set of antenna prototype. Measured results are very close to the simulated data.
