Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study the effectiveness of the finger reconstruction using osteocutaneous complexes on a pedicle in case of hand frostbite after-effects. The reconstruction of 56 fingers on 40 hands was performed using different osteocutaneous complexes on the pedicle in 33 patients who had suffered a cold injury. The transposition of the fiinger stump and metacarpal bone of an injured hand was performed on typical (10) and distracted (32) permanent pedicles, a radial osteocutaneous complex on a distal pedicle (7) as well as the transplantation of tissue complexes (the finger stump of the opposite hand, a fragment of the second metatarsal bone, the lateral edge of the scapula with a skin flap, the second toe) on a microvascular pedicle (7). The clinical, radiological, morphological, biomechanical, biophysical and statistical research methods were applied therein. The technologies were elaborated for transplanting a radial osteocutaneous length of the bone graft did not significantly change. The performed study has shown the feasibility of using osteocutaneous complexes on a pedicle for the reconstruction of fingers in case of the cold injury after-effects.
