Abstract

DFT-based channel estimation methods are widely used in OFDM systems with a good tradeoff between performance and complexity. However, the conventional DFT method only filters out the noise outside the CP length and the performance can be further improved. In this work, an improved novel method with maximum points selection based on conventional DFT method is proposed. The improved method picks several maximum CIR points within the CP length with heap sorting in order to eliminate the noise within the CP length. BER performance of the proposed method is simulated and compared with the conventional methods under LTE standard.
