Abstract

This chapter presents a dialogue which is embedded in the framework of a small story. The story begins with enemies entering the home of Melibeus while he is away, and beating up his wife Prudence and daughter. When Melibeus returns he is agitated and seeks revenge, but Prudence convinces him to call his friends and relatives for help. They advise him against being vindictive. Prudence has a long conversation with Melibeus to listen to her and to show leniency towards the repentant enemies. The dialogue ends with the reconciliation between Melibeus and his enemies.
