Abstract

A compact monopole excited drum shaped antenna for broad band application is presented. The proposed antenna offers a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth greater than 50% (1690–2940 MHz). The wide bandwidth along with omni directional pattern and moderate gain makes it suitable for existing and future wireless applications. Details of the antenna design and a comparison of simulated and measured results are presented and discussed.
