Strategic Planning Workshop

Abstract

A Resolution to hold a Strategic Planning Workshop just prior to next years SC7 meeting was approved in the last SC7 plenary meeting held in Prague in 1996. Quoting the Resolution, the purpose of the workshop is “to position SC7 to more effectively meet the needs of its customers by preparing a vision statement, mission statement, implementing strategies, product line definitions and assignment of implementing strategies.” Some specific objectives of the workshop include: 0 0 Develop “hard action” vision and mission for SC7. Achieve consensus on the products and services needed to support and maintain integrity of existing SC7 standards and technical reports. Achieve consensus on the SC7 product line for the next 5 years. Achieve consensus on the organizational structure by which the above will be achieved.
