Abstract

The paper describes problems with EMC of monitoring instrument in 1000kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS), due to transient enclosure voltage (TEV) produced during disconnector switching. Measuring method of TEV has been studied, including the choice of a reference ground point, the discussing about unique of scalar potential difference, and the method to eliminate the impact of magnetic field. A measuring system was developed and the impact of the wire lead of voltage probe was discussed. The measurement was conducted at an UHV AC test base and the characteristics of TEV were obtained.
