A digital video athoring and publishing system designed for the Internet

Abstract

CineKit will be used in business for media-enhanced presentations, video email, just-in-time professional development, customer support, meeting archives, electronic commerce, Internet broadcasting, and more. In the home, CineKit is used to create videos of family events, to support computer-mediated slide shows, and for audio-visual personal and family histories by senior citizens. Students use CineKit to create video essays and learn about media (Baecker and Posner, 1999; Posner, Baecker, and Homer, 1997). Teachers use it to document learning, to communicate with their peers, and to enrich distance education.
