Abstract

The scattering of the rough surface leads to the attenuation and fluctuation of the sound field. This paper aims to investigate how rough surface influences the statistic characters of transmission loss (TL) for low frequencies in a homogenous shallow water environment. As innovation, this paper employs the statistical analysis of simulated TLs. It is shown that TLs are related to wind speed, frequency and range. And they are fundamentally affected by the relative roughness of surface and the interaction strength of the sound field with the surface.
