Abstract

An expert fuzzy system is discussed which is capable of preventing frame cutting by switching devices. The discussion is driven according to the guidelines of an ATM contract for MPEG video transmission. Quality of service and real time constraints are assumed as the requirement for a traffic shaper whose main task is to avoid congestion.
